When in Bicol Jul 2015

After our Misibis escapade, we decided to stay in the city for another day to go and dine around ;)
Since this is not our first time in Bicol, we just had a laid back city tour.

First stop, was at Legazpi Boulevard.
Of course we had to take a pic of the big "Legazpi" signage!

It resembles Manila's Roxas blvd with a lot of food kiosks on the side.
So many people were jogging in the area too!

MUST-EAT in Bicol, sili ice cream from 1st Colonial Grill!!!
I actually like it, you can choose the level of spiciness from 1-3 (3 being the highest)
I also got the kamote and taro/gabi flavors.

Malunggay, cucumber and pili nut.
Interesting flavors!

Tinutungang Manok
-an authentic Darageño dish of chicken, green saba mixed with ginger, lemongrass cooked slowly in tinutungang gata~

Kandingga
-Bicol's version of Bopis
Love this! perfect with rice <3

Check out Embarcadero for some shopping, dining and entertainment.

the 17th century old Daraga Church

nice view of the city and...

Mayon!

there's a mini museum which features some antique paintings and religious statues

interiors of the church

the BEST halo-halo ever from DJC!!!

#WhenInAlbay, buy all the pili nut LOL

try the bottled Laing and Bicol Express too! NOM <3

Cagraray Eco Park

If you want to make most out of your stay in Misibis, then a visit to Cagraray Eco Park would be your best bet.
For a day tour, we paid an additional fee of P1000/person.
It's very near the resort...takes about 8 minutes to get there.

First stop is the Stella Maris Chapel.
Weddings at Misibis are usually held here; which offers a perfect overlooking view of Mayon.

the interiors~ so gorgeous!
It gets really romantic during sunset too <3

Next is the wall climbing/rapelling and high ropes course area.
I didn't try this actually but it looks really exciting!

Anyway there are also other fun activities you can do like paintball, zipline, luge cart riding etc.!
They also have camping grounds and swimming pools perfect for family bonding.

My favorite part would have to be the Ampitheater!
Such a beautiful view right?!

I can already imagine a wedding ceremony being held here lol

The night view is quite lovely too.
I'll surely be back for that!

Misibis Bay: Food

Not gonna lie, food in Misibis could be quite expensive for the budget traveler.
Our Deal Grocer voucher only included free breakfast meals so we had to pay extra for lunch and dinner.
Anyway, here's a glimpse of the things that we devoured during our stay~

One of the things I look forward to when staying in a hotel/resort is the breakfast buffet.
Sadly, Misibis didn't offer that during our stay :(
Understandable, since it was a low peak season...
I still enjoyed it nonetheless since they had my usual favorites like danggit, tapa and ofcourse bacon!

Bicol Express!
The price range for most dishes would be P300 up.
As you can see in the picture, the serving is only good for 1-2 persons ~depending
on how big your appetite is.

Pinakbet
~This was definitely good for only 1 person =P

We got free brownies on our first night hihi

Grilled Tuna Belly
Love the presentation~

Their very own Halo-Halo.
It was ok. I would've preferred eating it on a glass though =P

Misibis Bay: Beach

Ready to bask in the sun and feel the salt in the air? then head over to the beach and explore the beautiful coast of Misibis Bay!

Aside from just lounging around, there are several water activities you could engage in at the resort. e.g: kayaking, hobbie cat sailing, paddle surfing etc.

If you want an accommodation that's at the beachfront, then the luxury villas would be perfect <3

...just a good view of the beach and mountain

baywatch feels lol

construction on-going...

the famous tree branch of Misibis hehe

Misibis Bay: Pools

One of the facilities that I love most in Misibis are their pools.
I honestly did not expect that they offer such an extensive line of pools!

Read on to see~

There are basically 3 pools around the resort.
This one is called the Exquisite Lagoon
Fits the name quite well no?

Its very convenient for guests who are staying at the Junior Suite Deluxe and 1 BR Deluxe and Premier.
As you can see, its just right outside their doorstep! lol

There's also a really nice mini lounge/bar area at the middle.

The path leading to the other villas.

This would make a good lap pool as its length is quite long!

closer look at One Bedroom Deluxe/Premier villa ;)

Really love the design of this.
Gives you that "homey" feeling in a resort setting!

Next is the Kids' Pool.
It's just right beside Spice Market (Misibis' main resto) makin it an easy access for the children to swim right up after eating haha

Adore these cute turtle statues.

And finally, the Infinity pool which gives you a breathtaking overlooking view of the beach!

need i say more?

Best time to go here is at noon when all the people are inside hiding away from Mr. Sun! bwahaha

shades of green and blue <3

pool bar but no bartender nyahaha
