Lake Sebu

One popular site to go to when in Gen San is Lake Sebu.
From GenSan, take a bus to Marvel then transfer to a shuttle van going to Lake Sebu and finally rent a motorbike/habal-habal to the falls.
It takes about 3-4 hours to get there.

Entrance fee is just P20

the 7 falls of Lake Sebu
-you can easily see all 7 falls when you zipline ;)

Falls # 1

wearing traditional t'boli clothes

you can just take a photo-op if you're scared to do the real zipline ;)

another fun activity you can do is the zorb ball!

falls # 2

when you get to the restaurant, be sure to order some of their tilapia dishes <3

we got the chicharon style tilapia, chopsuey

and tilapia "lagpang" style

unfortunately, it started to rain a few mins while we were eating :(

fog suddenly appeared that I didn't opt to do the zipline anymore huhu #NoView

the water turned to a chocolate color too lol
so sad, hopefully i can go back and try out the zipline!

We then headed to the "lake" where most fishermen harvest their tilapia

It takes about 45mins to get here from GenSan :)

Fun fact: It is dubbed as the "Little Boracay of South Mindanao"

This is really packed during the summer but completely empty on a regular Tuesday morning of November haha

GenSan eats

As I've mentioned in my previous post, Saranggani Highlands is a must if you're looking for a beautiful place to have your lunch.

our delectable dishes <3

mango P75 , guyabano P80 and durian P95 shake

Crispy Tuna Bihod (Caviar) P220
-This was my favorite. Tuna Eggs deep fried into this rich crispy goodness!
Perfect for pulutan too hehe

Sarangani Seafood Express P295
-If you're tired of the usual Bicol express, try this seafood version that's equally enticing!

Tuna Sisig P250
-I love all kinds of sisig but unfortunately, this one was too spicy that all I can taste was the heat of the peppers =/

Watsay (Black Fern) Soup P280
-It's my first time to try Watsay. Taste was good, very similar to bird's nest ;)

Tuna Kinilaw
-sorry forgot to take note of the price.
It had mangoes, cucumber, singkamas and the usual onions and pepper ~yum!

Next stop is Arpochi.
It's quite famous for serving the best crabs in town!

Sweet and Spicy Crabs
-OMG, it really is the best crabs ever! I've never eaten crabs that are packed with such flavor like this. Also, the size of it really equates to its meat inside. It's not deceiving like other crabs that are huge but contains very little meat once opened lol
Sauce was perfect too! delish!

Native Chicken Ilonggo Style Adobo
-easily one of the best adobo's I've tried too! huhuhu
Ilonggo style doesn't have any sauce but still fingerlickin' good!

Squid Steak
-so there's bistek tagalog, but imagine it in squid?!
That's exactly the taste of this dish and I can't even contain how magical it was haha

Didn't take note of the price of each dish but total amounted to P2430 :)
Arpochi, highly recommended!

Want something new aside from Starbucks? Try out Blugre Cafe.

tempting cakes and pastries!

Durian coffee and frap

Choco torte cake with cream sauce <3

A must-eat in Gensan is their specialty dish called Balbacua.
You could get the best balbacua in Aweng's.

Balbacua and Bulalo
Basically it tastes like Bulalo. Our server said it just differs on the beef parts that they put in each ;)

Very affordable our meal cost P76 in total including drinks ;)

When in Gen San

In far far away Central Mindanao is the region of SOCCSKSARGEN  wherein the famous city of GenSan aka hometown of the people's champ, Manny Pacquiao lies.

So what to do when in Gensan?
Visit all Manny-related places ofcourse! LOL

First stop is the first mansion.
We were very lucky to be able to go inside thanks to the bystanders who told us haha.
This is for sale by the way.......for only P50 million! O_O

His 2nd mansion from the outside.
It's a big compound with a personal gym.

Another must-visit is the wild card gym where he regularly trains when he's scheduled for a fight!

When you visit Gensan, you could easily notice that Manny's really in good hands when it comes to his finances. Aside from this gym, there's Manny Pacquiao hotel, his own water business, building, cafe and even Jinkee's fashion boutique! WOAH.
I won't be surprise if he builds his own amusement park someday haha!

Once you're finish visiting Manny's establishments hehe you could head up to Sarangani Highlands to have lunch and take pictures at their beautiful garden!

They also have a great view of Sarangani Bay ~it's so picturesque <3

Perfect scenery: greens and florals with a beautiful backdrop of the sky and ocean <3

this table under the tree would be a perfect set-up for a romantic dinner <3

You'd be amazed to know that there are several malls in Gensan and most of them are close to each other.
My favorite one is Veranza which if you ask me, greatly resembles an Ayala mall.

One thing you surely won't miss is this huge man-made waterfalls which they say is the biggest in the ph.

It's quite pretty at night too.

And there's always a live band playing at night.

When you're done for the day, visit Greenleaf hotel for a relaxing massage or...

take photo-ops at their lobby!haha

Zanzibar for some chillax time yea~

If you don't get a chance to see the early tuna auction at the port, just buy some frozen
tuna goods and whatnot at Citra Mina.

Here you can buy assorted tuna parts, fish tofu, dried fish etc. for pasalubong.
They put it in a styrobox and completely seal it for ready check-in at the airport.

Tuna fillet perfect for sashimi <3
