Manjuyod Sandbar

Last entry for my Dumaguete/Siquijor travel series :(
But don't worry, I really saved the best for last! ;)

One place you definitely shouldn't miss is Manjuyod Sandbar.
It's a 1 hour+ drive from Dumaguete city proper so I suggest you leave early so you could catch the sandbar in its low tide condition.

We left Dumaguete around 6am ~the drive was good, no traffic so we still had time to eat breakfast at the market before heading to Bais, where the port to the sandbar is located.

We got lost actually, we thought we needed to head first to the tourism office of Bais but you don't need to do that anymore! Just go straight to the port! haha

We contracted a boatman and paid P1,500 going to the sandbar.
Travel time was around 40 minutes.

The early bird really gets the early worm! lol

I think we arrived at the sandbar around 9am already.
Water was rushing in fast so I took tons of pictures while you could still see the sand.

Before (low tide)

after 5 minutes

after 10 minutes

completely submerged after 15 minutes O_O

It's not too deep by the way ;)

There's a lot of starfish too :))

basking in paradise! <3

After 2 hours of swimming and taking pictures. It's time to head back but we saw this and decided to have a quick stop to take pictures bwahaha

FYI, Manjuyod is a 7km stretch of sandbar so not everything sinks completely when it's high tide.

So nice! looks like they're stranded haha

Super beautiful <3

Pristine clear waters...

Paradise!

The boatman harvested some oysters while waiting for us

Fresh! yum yum <3
