Paul Boulangerie and Patisserie, SM Aura

Uber late entry from my recent dine at Paul.
Been meaning to eat here since I saw a feature on Kris TV lol yea it's my guilty pleasure, slap me haha

Anyway, here's some pics (mostly menu nyahaha) I took when I went ;)

One thing I love about Paul is though they're a French franchise, price range of most items are fairly reasonable -considering the quantity they put on the plate :)

It's just a bit befuddling how the pictures all seem alike! lol
It really took some time for me to decide on what to order since I had to read the description of each dish LOL

So colorful and appetizing,  makes you wanna try everything!

You only have 5 selections for the mains but if you consider sandwich as your lunch/dinner, then you have more options hihi

deadly desserts =P

I think their tea/coffee + dessert set is a good deal <3

I wanna try their crepe next time!

My bf got their mint iced tea. Refreshing!

We both had a serving of their "soup of the day" which was tomato. YUM

I got the Cuisse de poulet rotie which in Layman's term is roasted chicken leg w/ herbs + salad, potatoes and shallots!
I really enjoyed devouring this dish as the chicken was really flavorful and tender, none of the bloody uncooked part too and serving was huge! I guess it doesn't show in this picture but it was really heavy for me (blames on the potatoes haha)

Bf got the Tourte Chevre = bread + goat cheese, eggplant, zucchini & tomatoes. Served with a salad and grilled tomato.
Heavenly.
This really went well with the soup and that tomato was cooked perfectly too.
I don't really like eating tomatoes but this was an exception!

Creme Brulee
-custard lovers would definitely love this.
For just P150, you get a big ass serving of this creamy custard goodness.
Not too sweet, delectable and savory. Paul's creme brulee is a MUST!

Verdict:

FOOD
Everything we ordered was delicious and perfectly cooked.
Serving was really big too so I think it justifies the price of some of the more "higher" priced meals.

SERVICE
The waiter who served us was really observant.
Constantly checking if we've finished our dishes or if we need anything else.
Bravo!

THE MAIN QUESTION
Will I go back?
Absolutely!
Wanna try so many other dishes, specially their pastries! <3

Magnum Cafe

So Wednesday before Holy Week, the rents and I went to SM Aura from our Batangas day trip.
My dad has never been there so it's good timing as I wanted to check out Magnum Cafe for the "Make your own Magnum" experience too haha

It was so crowded! I think it took us 15-20 minutes in line before we got our turn!
It became more slower since most people would take pictures of the counter haha =P

Before picking out your toppings, the first thing you'd do is Pay! lol
Make your own Magnum is P100, by the way :)

There are 18 toppings available and you get to pick 3 toppings of your choice <3
Some of the choices were pistachios, potato chips, popcorn, gold nuggets, chilli flakes, mallows etc.
It was a lot ~so the next time you'd visit, you could mix and match new flavors to try <3

After picking out the toppings, you get to choose from a Vanilla or Chocolate magnum bar.
Then choose the coating and drizzle. (salted caramel/gold, milk choco or dark chocolate)

*Unsolicited advice: I think it would be better if they'd just put a portion of the sauce into some squeeze bottles so they don't have to put up with the mess of using a long spoon when drizzling the ice cream bar hehe

After coating your Magnum bar, the staff would gently put all the toppings on top and make it pretty with the sauze drizzled ;)

Our Magnums <3
Make your own magnum bar is for take-out only so if you wanna stay inside the cafe, you'd better order their plated bars :)

Death by Chocolate P250
Deep dark chocolate lava cake and chocolate truffle Magnum topped with brownie pieces and chocolate crispearls

The name really suits it..imagine a chocolate bar on top of a perfectly cooked chocolate cake with brownie bits and poured over with milk ~OMG!

I can't get over how moist and creamy the cake was!!!
It was so good together with the ice cream!

Cookie Dough Skillet P250
Warm chocolate chip cookie dough topped with vanilla Magnum bars, dark chocolate and chopped pecans

it had the same consistency with Death by choco but I'm more of a chocolate girl so I'd prefer the former ;)

My dad got the Jardin, it's one of the pre-made flavors from their menu.
It's chocolate ice cream coated with milk chocolate topped with pistachios, dried raspberries and gold nuggets. Drizzled with white chocolate!

If you can't decide what toppings to get, just choose from their signature combinations!

As for me, I got a chocolate bar coated with dark chocolate.
Topped with quezo de bola shavings, pistachios, chilli flakes and gold nuggets drizzled with the gold sauce <3
I asked the staff to put just a bit of chilli flakes that's why I got one more topping (gold nuggets) added yay!

Don't you think so? :)

Fridate with HS Friends + Ramen Nagi

So, decided to go to SM Aura for the first time with my friends last Friday lol
Yea I know, I'm so late (loser) haha

Of course we had to try out the very popular Ramen Nagi ~woot!
But since the line was so long, we took some selfies with the pretty lights just outside the resto haha =P
Nothing to worry though, waiting time will only take for approximately 15 minutes..on a Friday night. Not sure with Saturday and Sunday though haha

Menu

While waiting,  you could just read on what particular ramen you'd like to get.
Basically, there are only 4 main flavors to choose from.
One for the "safe" eater, spicy lover, adventurous and "healthy"(?) LOL

When you get to your table, there's a paper you need to fill out for your ramen order.
You could specify the amount of richness of the broth, hardness of the noodles and pork part of your liking~shoulder or belly (nice!)

We decided to get 2 bowls and share it. (smart move)
The bowls were so big that if I ordered one for myself, I def won't be able to finish it.

We ordered the Original King (Butao) P390 and the Black King (Kuroo) P410
We added tamago P50 and nori P40 as well.
The nori served was whole! too big if you ask me =/ We were expecting it to be served in strips.

Karen looks scared of the Black King haha

Close-up shot
We got the pork belly for our Black King. I think it's better than the shoulder since it's thicker hehe.

and the Original!

Both are sooooo good! But I prefer the Black King. I don't know I guess, I'm the adventurous type?lol
Both broths were so rich and creamy. The only problem is, the soup was not as hot as I wanted it to be =/

Group shot <3
At first, the place was really packed that we had to share this table with 2 other groups!! (a couple and 3 friends)
could you imagine?! If I was claustrophobic, I'd get an anxiety attack right then and there lol
But I guess ventilation and acoustics were good coz we still got to chat and not bother each other haha
