Old Swiss Inn, Makati

I don't know why I haven't eaten in Old Swiss Inn before.
If it not for Deal Grocer's offer, I wouldn't have the chance to dine here actually lol
Yes, I've been missing out all these years!!!

Voucher Price: P625 valued at P1000 via Deal Grocer

The voucher's offer is only applicable to their Fondues
(dessert fondues not in picture)

here's the rest of the dishes they offer ;)

Also, one thing you could look forward to every year is their Anniversary Price rollback.

Whenever Old Swiss Inn celebrates their anniversary, several of their signature dishes would be decreased to its original price when they started 60+ years ago.
Could you imagine a prime rib priced at 35 freagin pesos?!
Insane right? I'd definitely mark my calendar for next August!

(p.s: there's no specific date for their anniversary promo but for the past years, it had fallen on the 27th, 26th and this year 25th of Aug ~so prolly it's the 24th for 8.2015? hmmm)

Went on a weekday afternoon to avoid the crowd ;)

We got 2 vouchers btw so for our 1st visit, we got the Walliser fondue

As much as I would want to say that I love this dish, it was the opposite.
I was expecting the pure melted cheese taste like the ones topped on pizza or on a bake macaroni but this one had a bitter aftertaste which was probably caused by the Swiss wine =/
Sad to say, it was a disappointment for me.

bread  and vegetables that came with the fondue

Schueblig

For our 2nd visit, we ordered the beef fondue.

You're probably wondering what's a beef fondue right?
It's pretty simple actually.
They put some oil in the pot and you dip your beef and let it cook.
-_____________________-

for the price of this fondue, i expected more beef rather than just 2 plates of it =/

Different condiments and whatnot to pair with your beef
I like the mushroom gravy most!

french fries came with the fondue too

Prime Rib
-one of the yummiest prime ribs I've ever tasted ~YUM!

Verdict:

FOOD
Though I was disappointed with their fondues, I really liked their other dishes specially the prime rib.
I'd give it an 8/10.

SERVICE
It was a hit and miss.
We were literally the only people during our visit, but there were times wherein we had difficulty getting the server's attention for ordering/getting the bill.

THE MAIN QUESTION
Will I go back?
Yes of course, I don't wanna miss out on their yearly price roll back! yeah! ;)

TBT: Dressing Room Series 20

Pastel Heaven!
I guess I took this pic around March of last year so there were a lot of spring arrivals on the racks that day hehe
Anyway, got attracted to these tie dyed pants the instant i saw it and decided to pair it with this light peach knit to add more softness to the look <3
Finished with a blue necklace to complement the pants!

Florals + Tulle for the cutesy, girly look
I love the lace details of this top and just tried out if it'll look good paired with the skirt.
Added a gold necklace to complete the look.
I think it went well right? :)

Paul Boulangerie and Patisserie, SM Aura

Uber late entry from my recent dine at Paul.
Been meaning to eat here since I saw a feature on Kris TV lol yea it's my guilty pleasure, slap me haha

Anyway, here's some pics (mostly menu nyahaha) I took when I went ;)

One thing I love about Paul is though they're a French franchise, price range of most items are fairly reasonable -considering the quantity they put on the plate :)

It's just a bit befuddling how the pictures all seem alike! lol
It really took some time for me to decide on what to order since I had to read the description of each dish LOL

So colorful and appetizing,  makes you wanna try everything!

You only have 5 selections for the mains but if you consider sandwich as your lunch/dinner, then you have more options hihi

deadly desserts =P

I think their tea/coffee + dessert set is a good deal <3

I wanna try their crepe next time!

My bf got their mint iced tea. Refreshing!

We both had a serving of their "soup of the day" which was tomato. YUM

I got the Cuisse de poulet rotie which in Layman's term is roasted chicken leg w/ herbs + salad, potatoes and shallots!
I really enjoyed devouring this dish as the chicken was really flavorful and tender, none of the bloody uncooked part too and serving was huge! I guess it doesn't show in this picture but it was really heavy for me (blames on the potatoes haha)

Bf got the Tourte Chevre = bread + goat cheese, eggplant, zucchini & tomatoes. Served with a salad and grilled tomato.
Heavenly.
This really went well with the soup and that tomato was cooked perfectly too.
I don't really like eating tomatoes but this was an exception!

Creme Brulee
-custard lovers would definitely love this.
For just P150, you get a big ass serving of this creamy custard goodness.
Not too sweet, delectable and savory. Paul's creme brulee is a MUST!

Verdict:

FOOD
Everything we ordered was delicious and perfectly cooked.
Serving was really big too so I think it justifies the price of some of the more "higher" priced meals.

SERVICE
The waiter who served us was really observant.
Constantly checking if we've finished our dishes or if we need anything else.
Bravo!

THE MAIN QUESTION
Will I go back?
Absolutely!
Wanna try so many other dishes, specially their pastries! <3

Dressing Room Selfie 21

I was going through the racks of F21, when I saw this one and only dress mixed with the more formal style of dresses. It's so pretty not to be noticed and even prettier when worn!
Roses + baby pink = romantic feels <3

Floral dress: P1175

Tulle just makes everything look ballerina-ish no?
Add in some lace and it's even more feminine <3

Spiral Lunch Date

So I'm back again at Spiral but this time with the boyfie <3
And yes, we availed the CashCash Pinoy voucher again for this lunch teehee

Cheese Room <3

Photo-op with the cheese selection available ;)

Boyfie loves Camembert but I'm totally clueless with cheese ~im only familiar with cream cheese, cheddar, parmesan and mozarella! lol

So here he is posing with the cheese connoisseur lol

Here's what the chef recommended.
She basically, put all the best-sellers in this plate haha
Too bad, I forgot the names of these =/

Some sides to go with our cheese <3
Super love pairing the cheese with pear jam then I'll bite in some walnut! YUM

Got some wine too.
TBH, I've never really eaten cheese with wine before so I wanted to give it a try.
The server suggested the perfect wine to go with our cheese tho I forgot to take note again of the name hihi sowee!

our wine and cheese platter! :))

boyfie got the green pea soup

while i got the pumpkin.
And I think the green pea tasted better!

my mixed salad..with frog legs haha

assorted sushi

assorted grilled meat
love the sausage!

duck and char sui

seafood noodles

indian selection

Chef's recommendation: seafood marinara
This was ok. Wasn't able to finish this, got the "umay" factor after a bit.
Also, I know pasta should be al dente but I really prefer my pasta to be a bit on the medium side of softness.

Would you believe we stayed in Spiral for 3.5 hours, consuming everything we can??!!
It was already the last call for the buffet so we rushed towards the dessert area to get some goods! LOL

our dessert plates

Spiral's truffles and pralines are really a MUST.
Make sure to get some when you're there!
I'm planning to bring my tupperware the next time I visit!haha *kidding*

Don't miss their ice cream selection as well!

Well look who we saw dining there too, former Manila city Mayor Lito Atienza.
FYI, we also saw him the last time we ate here for lunch lol
I guess he loves Spiral too!

some ootd photo op at the pool area
