Nara Deer Park Dec 2014

One of my fave spots during our trip was Nara.
Going there was easy peasy with Japan's very useful and fast railways.

From Tokyo, we rode a bullet train to Kyoto which takes about 3 hours.
Then we rode a rapid train from Kyoto to Nara for 45 minutes.
Remember: always take the rapid train instead of local!waaay faster!

Upon arriving at Nara station, don't forget to go to the tourist information and ask for a sight-seeing map.
They are very helpful (well all Japanese are, DUH lol) so don't hesitate to ask any questions :)

The most convenient way to the Deer Park is by bus. Just look for the yellow bus with a deer symbol on it and you're good to go haha
Alternatively, you could also walk your way up there for about 20 minutes ;)

Connected to the park is Todaiji Temple.
Make sure not to miss this!

The deers are all over!
They are very friendly to humans. Sometimes, too friendly that one deer even bit my coat to beg for deer crackers LOL

Nandaimon Gate

Todaiji is one of Japan's most famous temples and its main hall is considered to be the largest wooden building in the world!! O_O

such a serene place~

A friendly reminder LOL

There are an abundant number of deer at the park.
Some will come up to you immediately even if you don't have any crackers while the others
will just ignore you and sit in peace haha

Just be cautious when giving out the crackers coz once you feed one, others will start coming up to you instantly.
And it can get stressful coz they are very persistent!

Bambi and I

just hangin' around~

When you're done hanging out with all the deer, you might wanna get yourself some soft cream! :))

Or do some souvenir shopping!

Fancy some deer mini toys/keychain?

Yatsuhashi!

Mochi <3

and of course, deer cookies ;)
