Kawa Bath, Tibiao Antique Feb 2016

As I mentioned in my previous post, a MUST thing to do in Tibiao is the Kawa Hot Bath.
There are many lodges/inns that offer this but we decided to get it at Kayak Inn, where we booked our accommodation.

Our guide said that Kayak Inn was the first one who came up with the idea of  taking a hot bath using a "Kawa",which was originally used to cook muscovado sugar.
Was surprised to discover that Kayak Inn's owner is an Australian and yea, he's the same one who "invented" this Kawa hot bath.

Our cottage...doesn't get any rural than this! ;)
Same with Gigantes, signal was either non-existent or very weak =P
So yea, it's the simple life when you stay here!

the view from our cottage's porch

Yes, inside there's one bed ~futon style.
No tv,aircon or any other appliance.. just a fan!
You won't be needing it anyway since it's cool at night ;)

They have different sizes of Kawa available.
This one is the biggest and could fit 4 people.

And some mini sizes good for 1 Adult or for children.

Chose this one coz it had the best view and background for picture purposes lol
The size is good for 2 people ~perfect for me and my mom.

The "cooking process"
Many of my friends were shocked and asked me if I burned my skin while being boiled lol
The answer is, while they do begin this by firing up some wood. They don't actually leave the fire burning til it reaches boiling point. They just wait until it's hot/warm enough for you then they put it out =P

getting ready for an epic bath! lol

in our case, we left the fire burning for a few minutes to take some pictures lol

and yea, it was getting hot and i already felt my skin evaporating jk lol

mind over matter bwahahaha

so gorgeous with all the greenery!

I even used this branch as a makeshift-sort of- sponge to remove the dead skin cells LOL

enjoying every minute~
